The members of the Office of Student Affairs and the Office of Student Services are part of a large network of Law School and University departments, faculty, staff, and other professionals dedicated to supporting students. Office of Student Affairs

The Office of Student Affairs coordinates a wide range of services, events, and resources that enrich the student experience and supports the success of Loyola Law School students.

Public health guidelines have forced the Office of Student Affairs and Office of Student Services to work remotely. Advises student organizations on events, policies, and budgets, Advises students on Law School policies and procedures, Counsels students on academic and personal issues, Serves as Title IX Deputy Coordinator, Directs coordination and implementation of office programs and events, Manages Student Health Insurance Plan and On-Campus Psychological Counseling Office, and Assists Deans with conduct investigations and enforces student disciplinary code.

Advises students on academic rules, policies, procedures, graduation requirements and course requirements, Handles intake for student petitions or concerns, Performs clerical and administrative duties in support of Student Services, Assists with organizing,coordinating and marketing events and workshops, Assists with maintenance and updates to student handbooks, Serves as liaison between student organizations and vendors to source event essentials, Assists with student organization account management, Assists with vendor communication and management of student health insurance plan, and Assists in the coordination of student accommodations.

Serves as the Designated Service Official (DSO) and liaison with OISS and Graduate Admissions, Administers wellness and mental health initiatives, Counsels and advises students and staff on academic rules, and Law School policies and procedures governing student organizations, Coordinate Student Organization Leader Orientation, Serve as liaison between Intra-organization Council and Law School, Certify student eligibility to participate in the State bar of California’s Practical Training of Law Students program, Manages student-run events and advises groups on policies and procedures, Plans and implements complex, high-visibility student events, and Oversees the update and production of annual electronic student policy manuals and handbooks.

Office of Student Services

The Loyola Law School Office of Student Services oversees the Office of Student Affairs, the Office of the Registrar, and the Career Development Office. The team is located with the Student Affairs and Registrar Offices in the Student Services Suite in Founders Hall 105.

Recruits, hires, and schedules student note takers. Ensures that note takers and student employees are paid. Handles budgetary responsibility for processing payment to all student note takers, Works with the Office of Student Affairs and the Office of the Registrar to coordinate procedures for exam accommodations, Updates and maintains data in AIM Management System. Produces queries or reports to distribute information on data as needed, Maintains data to track the office’s efforts as well as students’ accommodations to help improve the office’s efficacy and project student needs, Assesses temporary injuries; collects documentation, reviews impact of injuries, recommends appropriate accommodations and implements plan, and Conducts Accessibility Services intakes for current and admitted students.

Manages Moral Character and Fitness Amendments; Affinity Group Graduations; Transfer Student Advising; Diversity Programming & Initiatives; Multicultural Center Oversight; Minority Student Achievement Strategies and Goals Advising; Commencement Awards & Certificates of Appreciation, Produces content for traditional and digital communications products that support DEI, including newsletters, awareness, event promotions, and web pages, Serves as a liaison between students, student affinity groups, and other university departments to ensure smooth delivery of services and promote positive communication and collaboration, Develops positive working relationships with affinity group board members. Assists with development of retention programs for students of historically underrepresented groups, and Collects and organizes relevant DEI Statistics for annual reporting surveys from each unit of the departments.
